Privacy Policy
EngJoy is used by young children, so we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and we never advertise to your child. This page explains exactly what we hold and why.
1. Who we are
EngJoy is operated by [registered company name], registered at [registered address]. In this policy “we” and “EngJoy” mean that company. We are the Data Fiduciary responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@engjoy.kids.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the EngJoy website, the live classes, and the EngJoy app used by children and their parents. It does not cover other websites we may link to.
3. What we collect
From you, the parent
- Your name and email address, so we can create your account and contact you.
- Payment details, handled directly by [payment provider]. We do not see or store your card number.
- Any message you send us through the contact form.
About your child
- Their display name — a first name or nickname is fine.
- Their date of birth, used to help place them at the right level and nothing else.
- Their gender, which is optional and can be left blank.
- The avatar they pick and their picture-login sequence. Children never have passwords — they sign in by tapping pictures in an order they choose.
As your child learns
So that lessons adapt and you can see progress, we record how your child gets on:
- Which activities they attempted and how they did.
- How long they played, and which days they were active.
- Which topics they have mastered, and which need more practice.
- Attendance at live classes.
- Stars, coins, badges and items they have earned or equipped.
We use this only to teach your child and to report progress to you. We do not use it to profile your child, to target anything at them, or for any advertising purpose.
Live classes
Live classes are delivered through [video platform]. Your child sees and hears an animated character rather than the teacher. Recording: [recording policy — decide before launch].
Technical information
- Device tokens, only if you turn on notifications.
- Basic technical logs needed to keep the service running and secure.
4. What we never do
We do not show advertising to children. There are no ads anywhere in EngJoy.
We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, for any purpose.
We do not profile children for advertising or build marketing profiles from how a child plays.
Children cannot chat with strangers. There is no open messaging in EngJoy.
5. Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

6. Children's data and your consent
EngJoy is for children aged 3 to 8, so a parent or guardian always sets up and controls the account. When you create an account we ask you to confirm you are the parent or legal guardian and to consent to us handling your child's information as described here.
Your consent is specific to the purposes listed in section 5. We will ask again before using your child's data for anything new.
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by writing to hello@engjoy.kidsor using the controls in the parent dashboard. When you withdraw, we stop processing and delete your child's data as set out in section 10. Withdrawing does not affect anything we did lawfully beforehand.
7. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run EngJoy:

Each is bound by contract to use the data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
8. Where it is stored

9. If something goes wrong
If a breach affects your or your child's personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India without undue delay, and tell you plainly what happened, what it means for you, and what we are doing about it.
10. How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your subscription is active. After you leave, we keep it for [retention period]and then delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your child's data sooner at any time.
11. Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and your child, and how we process it
- have anything inaccurate or incomplete corrected or completed
- have your child's data erased
- withdraw your consent at any time
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to act
- complain to us, and to the regulator, without being penalised for it

12. Complaints
Our Grievance Officer is [grievance officer name and contact]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
13. Keeping it safe
- Children sign in with pictures, so there is no child password to leak.
- Access to learning records is restricted to the child's own parent and their teacher.
- Data is encrypted in transit.
- Access to production data is limited to staff who need it to do their job.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for anything significant we will email you before it takes effect.
